Auto-captions from video

3 min readeditorcaptionsaccessibility

Speech-to-text captions burned into the video.

Steps

  1. Captions tool → Generate from audio.
  2. Processing takes ~30s per minute of video.
  3. Captions appear as timed text blocks on the timeline. Edit any block to fix a mis-hear.
  4. Style panel: font, size, color, background, position (usually bottom-third).

Import your own

Upload an SRT or VTT file → captions timeline populates. Handy if you already have transcripts.

Note

Auto-captions runs entirely on-device where possible. When device storage is full, you'll see a warning: "Auto-captions unavailable — device storage full. Upload an SRT/VTT file instead."
